Highlights From ARCOmadrid 2022

We spent the most phenomenal, art-filled week exploring every inch of ARCOmadrid and hosting an exclusive event at Art of the Present Future, one of the most coveted exhibitions in the city.

Celebrating its 40 (+1) Anniversary this year, ARCOmadrid international contemporary art fair is one of the most significant art market platforms in Spain. We enjoyed a balanced mix of local and foreign artists, including many new discoveries and some of our old favourites Jordi Bernadó, Antoni Tàpies, Jaume Plensa and more. Watch our highlight reel from Day 1 at the fair here.

The art curated was a profound reflection of our times, with moving political themes, and a number of black and white geometric works that really stood out. We adored the works of Carlos Aires made with currencies from the 30 wealthiest GDPR countries in the world, and were blown away by the space created by AD Spain (which you can read all about over on the blog).

Of course as well as the art itself, our highlight was meeting old friends from the gallery world, like the teams from Galeria Senda, Marlborough Gallery and Baró Gallery in Mallorca to name just a few. We also caught up with artists Jordi Bernadó and Carla Cascales whose work we exhibited at Mirror to the City, a private showroom we curated in collaboration with Francesc Macià 10 at the end of last year.

Some more of the moments and artworks that really stayed with us…

Including pieces by Gabriela Bettini, Secundino Hernández and cuban artist Marco A. Castillo.

We also hosted an art aperitivo on Thursday night in collaboration with Lucas Fox atArt of the Present Future”, an exhibition curated by Daniel Cardini. Read more about the evening over on the blog.
