About The Artist:

Fernando de Ana is from a family with three generations of artists, beginning in the 19th century with his great-uncle, painter José Pérez (also the first director of the Cádiz Art Museum), and continuing with his father, Juan Carlos Jiménez, also a painter and Doctor in Fine Arts. Fernando de Ana has been surrounded by oil paints and pencils all his life.

Although inheriting a classical pictorial tradition from his family, Fernando de Ana has explored the medium of painting in a very creative and experimental way, finding his own path amongst the contemporary techniques and styles of today.

Fernando has adopted techniques with results that immerse the spectator in his works, transforming the space in an electrifying way. Now having positioned himself on the national scene, he will very soon be represented by a prestigious gallery in Miami & New York, which will further increase the prestige and value of his works.

He is known for his resin abstract paintings characterised by bright colours, geometric composition, smooth textures and shining finishes. Sometimes, he adds neon light sticks to his flat, minimalist and colourful resin paintings, turning the piece into a light.

While referencing the '60s minimalist languages of neon light stick installations of Dan Flavin and Keith Sonnier, Fernando de Ana has shaped a very personal and unique visual poetic that is fresh and glamorous. Paradoxically, his minimalist shining paintings convey feelings of loneliness and melancholy.

His work is appreciated by private collectors and interior designers from around the world, he has received numerous prizes and awards and has been exhibited in Prague, Bologna, Amsterdam and London.
