Our founder Gabby went to the opening of Yago Hortal’s first retrospective exhibition at the Can Framis Museum earlier this month, with our gorgeous friend and fellow art lover Anarella of The Art Route.

Barcelona born and bred, Yago’s intense and mesmerising use of vivid colour brings spaces to life. The exhibition 'Allò era abans, això és ara' (which loosely translates to “that was then, this is now” explores the journey of his 14 year career so far!

“I first came across Yago’s work in Jaime Beristain’s concept store in Barcelona and had to know more about him. Later we met at Galeria Senda and the rest is history. If I had to pinpoint one artist who first started me on my art journey, it would be him.” - Gabby Sütori, Founder of The Art Büro

The exhibition, Curated by art critic Enrique Juncosa, features more than forty paintings in chronological order, covering the artist’s fourteen-year career so far. One of the best known Catalan artists of his generation, Yago’s work is truly stunning. The show runs until the end of May and is completely unmissable if you're in Barcelona.

We love Yago’s work and absolutely DREAM of owning one of his pieces. What do you think?!
